About Me – My Work and Expertise

I’m a developer and creator with experience across various programming languages and technologies. On this site, I showcase my projects, including software development and AI-generated art. My focus is on practical, hands-on work that blends technical skill with creativity.

Who am I ?

I’m Fabian Wegner, a coder and hobby AI art creator with a deep passion for both technology and creativity. My coding journey began at the age of 10 when I first learned C# in the 7th grade. This early spark of interest led me to self-teach myself various programming languages and technologies over the years.

In addition to my technical pursuits, I started creating AI-generated art in mid-2022, which quickly became a significant part of my creative expression. By early 2023, I began sharing my work publicly. Dark fantasy often serves as a major source of inspiration in my art, blending intricate, imaginative worlds with my coding skills.

While my professional career lies outside the coding field, my love for software development, gaming, and digital artistry continues to shape my work. I am also an avid reader of sci-fi, which further fuels my creativity. Outside of my coding and art, I enjoy gaming and spending time with my cats, maintaining a balance between my technical and personal interests.

Whether exploring the depths of dark fantasy or developing new software, I strive to merge technical expertise with artistic imagination in all that I do.

Me as an “Artist”!

As an “artist”, I don’t consider myself in the traditional sense, as I don’t engage in drawing, painting, or similar practices. My creative process revolves around combining code and guiding AI to generate visual art. I view myself more as a curator of the AI’s capabilities, shaping the outputs through technical manipulation rather than traditional artistic techniques. While I don’t compare myself to artists with real-life, hands-on creative skills, I find joy in the intersection of code and creativity, where technology becomes my medium for expression.

Morality in AI!

In my view, the ethics of AI art are deeply rooted in transparency and the respect for the sources that contribute to its creation. AI-generated artwork can be considered morally acceptable as long as all utilized sources have provided explicit consent and are fairly compensated, particularly in commercial contexts. However, for personal, non-commercial use—where the intention is to create engaging, thought-provoking art—it is, in my opinion, entirely appropriate to generate and share AI creations, provided that they are clearly identified as such and accompanied by a modest sense of responsibility. The core principle is to ensure that AI art does not exploit or deceive creators, and that it respects intellectual property rights.

In alignment with this belief, I do have a selection of images placed behind a paywall. These are not meant to serve as a significant income source, nor are they priced prohibitively. Rather, they provide an opportunity for those who wish to offer support to my work to do so in a manner that aligns with their own appreciation. The paywall exists solely as a voluntary means of contribution, for those who choose to support the creative process behind the art I share.
